Midsummer Santa is a fanworks exchange in which you secretly make a C6D fanwork (story, art, vid, icon set, podfic, fanmix, etc). Meanwhile, someone else will make you a C6D fanwork gift. Signups are open now, and close on 1 June. Gifts are due by 11 August.

I'd like to play and this would be my first time, so I'd like to know minimum word-count for if we're gifting fic and how the exchange is done (i.e., is it the same way the match-up is done for the dSSS)?

Cool! Yes, it's a lot like DSSS. The minimum word count is 1,000 words - or equivalent if you're making a fanwork in some other media. Matching is done on fandom and character. There's a comprehensive FAQ if you click on the link above. (At least I hope it's comprehensive; contact me if you have any questions.) :-)

Oh, duh, the link to the FAQ, right. I need a few days to think about whether I can be sure of following through on this commitment when I'm already writing for the dSC6D BB and the alternate_dS_C6D.

Under Offers, are you just matching on fandom or also on pairing/characters. Because I'm listing like a dozen fandoms, so all possible characters/pairings would be more than the 20 allowed. I'm pretty much good with all characters/pairings in the fandoms I'm offering to write...

Fandom and character (and probably pairing as well). You can add extra fandoms and characters in the description box, or just a statement like: X Fandom: all charachers/pairings (as some of them have fairly small casts). How does that sound?

I will likely be hand-matching, because we've recently had less than ten participants. Which means I know I can match you with almost anyone. :-)

Hey, when do you anticipate assignments would be out? I'll be going up to the mountains around the 13th of June, and it would be great if I could get the assignment before then (or hopefully even a couple of days before, so I could prepare by bringing appropriate media and stuff with me).
